Trump States War on Iran to End Soon

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that the ongoing US‑Israeli war against Iran will end “soon,” asserting that strikes by American and Israeli forces have left “practically nothing left to target” in the country. Speaking in a brief phone interview with Axios, Trump emphasized that the conclusion of the war is ultimately his decision, saying it could end “any time I want it to end,” while also noting that decisions are coordinated with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

US Central Command Commander Brad Cooper provided additional details, stating in a video message that more than 5,500 targets have been destroyed, including over 60 ships, and that all of Iran’s Sulaymani‑class warships have been neutralized. According to Cooper, these strikes have sharply curtailed Iran’s naval capacity and industrial infrastructure. Despite Trump’s statements, US and Israeli officials are preparing for the conflict to last at least another two weeks, indicating that military operations and regional tensions are likely to continue for the near term.

The president’s remarks highlight the US approach to the war as highly centralized under his authority, signaling that the pace and timing of further military actions remain directly under executive control.
