Fidan Attends EU Meeting on Black Sea Security
The meeting, titled Ministerial Meeting on Security, Stability, and Resilience in the Black Sea Region, was hosted in Luxembourg. This information was shared by the ministry through a post on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
While in Luxembourg, Minister Fidan also engaged in discussions with his Greek counterpart, Giorgos Gerapetritis, as well as with Marta Kos, the European Union's commissioner for enlargement. The ministry also mentioned these meetings in its NSosyal post.
Turkey has been an official candidate for EU membership since 1999, under the purview of Kos' responsibilities.
The country’s accession talks commenced in 2005 but have faced significant setbacks in recent years.
Turkish officials have urged the EU to revive these negotiations, calling for fair treatment of Turkey and acknowledgment of its crucial strategic and international role.
